Who doesn't feel good when they look good? The answer is absolutely no one. If someone tells you they feel good when they look bad they're lying. This blog is going to give you a look into my perspective of beauty. Before we get to all of that, let me tell you who you are listening to.
Hello, Blossoms.
I figured my first post should be a little bit about me. Virtually, I go by L.K. I am twenty-three years old and come from a family full of beauty gurus. While I am pursuing a business career, beauty and makeup are two things that hold my heart. I love doing makeovers as a hobby and side gig. I remember the first makeup I ever owned was handed down to me by my grandmother. While all the girls my age were playing little league, I was in my bedroom practicing makeup and getting angry that I couldn't get my lip liner perfect. When junior high came around, girls were using the lightest coverage of whatever drug store product their mothers had guessed might work while I waltzed in the locker room with my hand-me-down MAC.
I thought I was great.
They thought I was great.
Let's be honest; I was.
I was the first student at my high school to dual enroll in the Cosmetology High School Program. While I chose not to continue that path, I still learned many skills in my time there. My very first job was a shampoo technician at a local beauty salon. My mother and sister are also licensed cosmetologist and through all of this I have learned a lot about the beauty industry.
I first started actually learning makeup techniques when I realized contouring existed. I have a very round face and was determined to figure out how to make it look slimmer with makeup. I began watching YouTube videos. Everyday I would watch 3-5 videos learning new techniques. I would practice on myself and others and began to see myself progress as an artist.
I started doing my friends makeup for fun and before I knew it, people were asking me left and right to do their makeup for certain events. After doing makeup for five years, I finally consider myself a free-lance makeup artist and have so much fun making people beautiful for proms, weddings, homecomings, pageants, date night, and for no reason at all. This is my passion and I am happy to share it with you.

I love that you kept up with your passion and were able to make money off of doing what you love and are good at! I am a fan of beauty, but don't always have the patience to practice. Looking forward to seeing more posts!
