Keeping Healthy Hair

A few helpful tips that have helped me keep my hair healthy while using hot tools, exposure to the sun, and coloring it often!

• Lanza Healing Oil
• I love this stuff! I apply this to wet hair before I go to bed and again after I style to add shine. It is a voluminous oil that adds lightweight shine while keeping hair healthier and stronger. 

• 

• Heat Protectant
• Before any hot tool (flat iron, curling iron, crimper, blow dryer) touches my hair, I use heat protectant. The brand I am currently using is Rusk Thermal Flat Iron Spray

• Quality Shampoo & Conditioner 
• Most of the shampoo and conditioner sold at local grocery and drug stores have harmful parabens and other ingredients that damage your hair. Salon grade products generally use milder cleansers that are PH balanced and gently clean the hair while maintain the proper PH balance. They also will help your color last longer because salon grade products have higher concentration. My current favorite is Joico K-Pak 

• Regular Trims
• It is so important to get your hair trimmed regularly! Get rid of the dead ends to promote new growth. 

• Lanza Trauma Treatment
• This is my all time favorite product. It is a deep conditioner but it can be used in so many other ways. I ask my hair dresser to mix it with the color she applies to my hair. I also put it in my wet hair every time I wash my hair. 

• Deep Conditioning Treatments
• A lot of people do not know about deep conditioning treatments. Think of it like a face mask but for your hair. It replenishes moisture and promotes healthy hair and new growth. My go to deep conditioner is Biolage Hydrasource Conditioning Balm. Shampoo your hair regularly and then apply a generous amount of the conditioner and leave it for 15 minutes. To enhance this process, sit under a blow dryer. Rinse when done.
